Blue Mountain Health System has an Ethics Committee which is an advisory body that acts as a forum for consensus on ethical concerns to healthcare workers, physicians, patients and patients' families. Members of the committee include healthcare workers, nurses, physicians, community and religious leaders who are caring, concerned and sensitive to the needs of those they serve. The committee does not attempt to monitor the professional practice of its personnel; rather, it serves as a center for information, helping all who serve at Blue Mountain Health System facilities to care in an ethically sound manner. When difficult decisions must be made, healthcare workers, physicians, patients or family members may turn to the Ethics Committee for help. Our Ethics Committee can be accessed through the case management departments of the hospitals or the nursing supervisors.
